Annual Budget & Trustee Vote
May 21, 2024 7am – 9pm
Van Cortlandtville Elementary School
3100 East Main St., Mohegan Lake, NY 10547
The challenge
School budget and board voter turnout rates across the country are discouragingly low, often in the 5% to 10% range. They’re especially low in areas with off-cycle school board elections, like Lakeland, that are held on different days from state and national elections. Typically, LCSD’s voter turnout hovers only around 5% of the Lakeland community showed up on election day.
If we’re going to see positive change in Lakeland, we need more – a lot more – of our community to show up for the board and budget vote. We’re asking you to again not only come to the polls on May 21, but commit to getting FIVE of your friends and neighbors to join you and vote for the Lakeland RISE-endorsed slate.
Together, we can do this!
